Description

The Xanthosoma ‘Lindenii’ is a symbol of luminous direction, structural harmony, and the courage to wear your heart on your sleeve. With its dramatic, arrowhead-shaped leaves etched with bold, white-silver veins that radiate from the center, it serves as a reminder that our internal “map”—our values and intentions—can be a source of immense beauty when clearly defined.
Traditionally associated with protection and the clearing of mental fog, it is a botanical anchor for those seeking clarity during times of transition. Many keep it in creative hubs or at the center of the home to invite a sense of order, purpose, and vibrant “Air” energy into their daily lives.
Botanical Name: Xanthosoma lindenii (recently reclassified by some as Phyllotaenium lindenii)
Common Name(s): Caladium lindenii, White Vein Arrowhead, Angel’s Wing
Care Notes:
  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to keep its white “skeletal” veins crisp and bright. While it seeks luminosity, its thin, velvety leaves are highly sensitive to direct sun, which can cause them to bleach or curl. It thrives in the gentle light of an east-facing window.
  • Water: Prefers a “middle path” of moisture. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, but do not allow it to dry out completely. It is expressive; its stems will lose their elegant upright posture and begin to flag if it feels neglected or thirsty.
  • Environmental: Thrives in warm, tropical temperatures (65–85°F). It remains one of the more “vocal” humidity seekers; it demands high humidity (60%+) to prevent its striking leaf tips from browning. Avoid drafty hallways or dry air vents.
  • Pet Friendly: No; contains calcium oxalate crystals which are toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
Like many highly detailed spirits, the Xanthosoma ‘Lindenii’ responds best to a relationship of presence and precise care. It does not like to be ignored, and in return for your attention, it offers a stunning display of architectural geometry. Its growth invites a slower, more observant pace of life.
If you are drawn to the beauty of a clear path and the strength found in intricate detail, this may be a supportive addition to your space.

Please note that size is determined by the diameter of the nursery pot, not the height or width of the foliage. Additionally, as living organisms, individual plants will naturally vary; the level of variegation and the presence of fenestrations (leaf holes) are not guaranteed and will vary based on the plant’s age, maturity, and specific lighting conditions.
